Gifts At Work
Through the years, Clara Barton Hospital Foundation’s members have been generously committed to helping Clara Barton Hospital, a not-for-profit critical-access Hospital, expand healthcare services and update equipment to meet the community’s healthcare needs. This year was no exception. Contributions from the 2012-2013 membership drive funded a Hematology Analyzer for Clara Barton Hospital’s Laboratory.
Members’ interest in quality local healthcare was evident as ever this year, as we welcomed more donors to this year’s membership drive than in years prior. Knowing the difference that it will make for the Hospital and the patients it serves, a record-number of businesses and individuals donated to help fund a new hematology analyzer. Over 108 Clara Barton employees participated in the membership drive accounting for just over $11,500.00 of the record setting $44,255.79 raised by the end of December 31, 2012. The lab needed a new model to replace the outmoded blood analyzer, purchased several years ago, which had considerable amount of downtime this past year, resulting in delayed test results and additional cost for troubleshooting and transportation of samples to another lab. Membership donations help to upgrade, provide capital equipment improvement and make sure access quality healthcare is available here in our community. If you would like to become a Foundation member and help the Hospital improve, please call 620-653-5012.

Our hearts are bursting with gratitude and appreciation for the support Foundation members have shown in funding the Hematology Analyzer for Clara Barton Hospital.
Out with the old and in with the new thanks to benefit supporters:
The 19th annual benefit was a great success thanks to all the generous sponsors, golfers and dinner/ auction participants. The day’s conditions were perfect at Lake Barton Golf course and the tournament, for the first time in its event history, filled all 30 team slots. Golf event organizers celebrated this milestone. “Filling all 30 tee times is something we work towards every year and this year we did it,” explains Nadine Jones, golf co-chair for the past 19 years. The event netted just over $43,550.00. Benefit proceeds were used to purchase six Go Bed II Hospital beds. This completed the project to upgrade patient beds for the Hospital (seven beds were purchased back in 2010 with proceeds from the 17th annual golf benefit). In addition, three over-bed tables were purchased for ER rooms and five over-bed tables for Hospital patient rooms.
